Wanchese Crab Cakes

Serves: 3 people

Recipe Ingredients

1 lb 454g / 16ozCrabmeat - flaked
3/4 cup 109g / 3.8ozCracker crumbs
1 cup 198g / 7ozEgg - beaten (large)
2 tablespoons 30mlOnion - minced
2 tablespoons 30mlMayonnaise
1 tablespoon 15mlWorcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon 15mlMustard - prepared
3/4 teaspoon 3.8mlHot pepper sauce
1 teaspoon 5ml-- salt
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlBlack pepper - ground fresh
  Cracker crumbs - for dredging
  Peanut oil - for frying cakes

Recipe Instructions

In a medium bowl, mix together with fork the first 10 ingredients.

Form mixture into 3-inch patties; roll in cracker crumbs.

In a skillet or deep fat fryer, heat oil to 375F; fry patties until golden brown, about 2 minutes on each side.

Drain on paper towels and serve immediately with sauce of choice.
