Recipe Ingredients

2   Hot peppers - chopped
12   Green peppers - chopped
2   Green tomatoes - chopped
5 cups 990g / 34ozSugar
3   Vinegar
12   Red peppers - chopped
1   Cabbage - chopped
12   Onions - chopped (medium)
2 tablespoons 30mlPickling spice

Recipe Instructions

Mix all vegetables with 1/2 cup salt. Let stand overnight: drain. Tie spices in a bag.

Add sugar and spices to vinegar, simmer 20 minutes.

Add all other ingredients and simmer until hot and well seasoned.

Do not overcook. Remove spice bag. Pack hot chow-chow in hot jars and seal at once.
