Fondant With Pears Or Cherries

Recipe Ingredients

6   Pears or
1 lb 454g / 16ozFresh cherries
1 cup 62g / 2.2ozFlour
1 cup 198g / 7ozSugar
1 teaspoon 5mlBaking powder
5   Eggs
3 tablespoons 45mlWater - (approximately)
1   Cinnamon
1   Salt
1/4 lb 113g / 4ozButter - softened

Recipe Instructions

Chop unpeeled pears into bite-sized chunks. (Or pit cherries and cut in half.) Arrange the fruit on the bottom of a greased tart pan.

To make the pastry, mix all ingredients, except softened butter, with a beater. When well-blended, add butter. Pour batter over the fruit. Bake in a 300F. oven for 30 minutes.
