Fondant With Pears Or Cherries Recipe - Cooking Index

1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Flour |
1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Sugar |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Baking powder |
5 | Eggs | |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Water - (approximately) |
1 | Cinnamon | |
1 | Salt | |
1/4 lb | 113g / 4oz | Butter - softened |
Chop unpeeled pears into bite-sized chunks. (Or pit cherries and cut in half.) Arrange the fruit on the bottom of a greased tart pan.
To make the pastry, mix all ingredients, except softened butter, with a beater. When well-blended, add butter. Pour batter over the fruit. Bake in a 300F. oven for 30 minutes.
