Port-Glazed Figs Recipe - Cooking Index
1/2 cup | 118ml | Crème de cassis |
(black currant-flavored liqueur) | ||
750 | Port wine - (1 bottle) | |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Fresh figs |
(6 large or 24 small) | ||
2 cups | 474ml | Vanilla low-fat frozen yogurt |
Combine crème de cassis and wine in a large saucepan; bring to a boil. Add figs; reduce heat to medium, and simmer 8 to 10 minutes. Remove figs with a slotted spoon, and place in a bowl.
Cook wine mixture over medium heat 35 minutes or until slightly syrupy and reduced to 1 cup. Pour sauce into a bowl; let cool to room temperature.
Yield: 6 servings (serving size: 1 large or 4 small figs, 1/3 cup frozen yogurt, and about 2-1/2 tablespoons sauce).
