Snapple Iced Teas
BASIC INSTRUCTIONS: Boil 2 qts water in a large saucepan. When the water boils, turn off the heat and add 3 Lipton tea bags (black pekoe and orange pekoe blend). Cover and let brew for one hour. After the tea has brewed for one hour, put the sugar or artificial sweetener in the bottom of a 2 qt pitcher, then add the tea. The tea will still be warm, so the sugar or sweetener will dissolve quickly. Add the flavoring ingredients (plus enough water to bring to the 2 qt line). Chill.
Sugar: either 1/4 cup granulated or 1 - 16 oz bottle light Karo. OR USE Sweetener: 12 - 1 gram envelopes (for diet version) Lemon juice: 1/3 cup + 2 tablespoons
Variations:
Lemon or Diet Lemon: assemble as above Orange: add 1/8 tsp. orange extract Strawberry: add 1 tablespoon strawberry extract Cranberry: add 2 tablespoons Ocean Spray cranberry juice cocktail concentrate. Raspberry: add 1 tablespoon raspberry extract. Peach: add 1 tablespoon peach extract.
NOTE: Bigelow Tea has an herbal raspberry tea on the market that makes wonderful iced tea. It's a little hard to find but worth the effort.
