White Wild Turkey Chili Recipe - Cooking Index
Spring is the time to put to use those yelps, cackles and purrs you have been practicing for the last three months. You probably sound more like a turkey hen than the real Mc-Coy. With a little luck and if you can sit still in the woods, you will soon have a nice big gobbler to chow down on. Try this recipe for a change of pace from baked or fried turkey.

2 | Chicken broth | |
1 cup | 237ml | Water |
1 1/2 cups | 93g / 3.3oz | Chopped onion |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Onion powder |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Garlic powder |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Celery salt |
Salt - to taste | ||
Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste | ||
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Paprika |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Parsley flakes |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Ground cumin |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Ground cloves |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Oregano |
1 | White corn kernels | |
2 | Chopped green chilies | |
1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Shredded Monterey Jack cheese |
Flour tortillas - for serving |
Saute turkey in skillet with onions for 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients, except cheese. Simmer one hour. Top each bowl with Monterey Jack cheese and serve with flour tortillas.
This recipe yields 4 to 6 servings.
