| 1/2 lb | Lean ham - diced | |
| 3 x | Water | |
| 6 cups | Tomatoes | |
| 2 cups | Lima beans | |
| 4 cups | Potatoes - diced (large) | |
| 2 cups | Grated corn | |
| 1 tablespoon | Salt | |
| 1/4 teaspoon | Freshly-ground black pepper | |
| 1 teaspoon | Hot red pepper pod (small) | |
| 6 tablespoons | Butter |
Simmer game meat, onion, and ham gently in water for 2 hours. Add tomatoes, limas, potatoes, corn, salt, black pepper, and hot pepper pod; cover and simmer gently for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Add butter and serve as soon as it melts.
