1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Margarine |
1/2 cup | 80g / 2.8oz | Brown sugar |
1 | Egg | |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Milk |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Molasses |
3/4 cup | 46g / 1.6oz | Whole-wheat flour |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Wheat germ |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
3/4 cup | 69g / 2.4oz | Coconut |
1/3 cup | 48g / 1.7oz | Walnuts - chopped |
1/2 cup | 80g / 2.8oz | Raisins |
In a medium bowl, cream shortening, sugar and vanilla. Add egg, milk and molasses.
Stir together flour, wheat germ, soda, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in coconut, walnuts and raisins.
Drop by tablespoons onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 13 minutes.
This recipe yields 15 cookies.
