Korean Shish Kebab - {Sanjok}

Recipe Ingredients

1 tablespoon  Soy sauce
1 teaspoon  Sesame oil
1 teaspoon  Sugar
1 lb  Rib eye or other tender thick beef - cut into
  Cubes 1" to 1 1/2" in size
1 x  Green onions - sliced 1" pieces
1/4 x  Rice cake sticks - (1 lb pkg) - see * Note,
  Cut into 1" to 1 1/2" cubes
1/2 lb  White mushrooms - (optional)

Recipe Instructions

* Note: Rice cake sticks are available at Korean markets.

Combine soy sauce, sesame oil and sugar. Marinate beef in mixture 30 minutes.

Thread beef onto 2 parallel skewers (so that both skewers pierce meat), alternating with green onion pieces, rice cake pieces and mushrooms, if using.

Grill over high heat until meat reaches desired doneness, about 5 to 8 minutes for medium-rare.

This recipe yields 5 to 6 servings.
