Hearty Sausage-Vegetable Strata Recipe - Cooking Index

1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Cauliflower florets |
1/2 cup | 55g / 1.9oz | Cooked baby carrots |

1 cup | 237ml | Cream - mixed with |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Water |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Dry mustard |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Freshly-ground black pepper |
6 oz | 170g | Shredded Cheddar cheese - (1 1/2 cups) |
Remove sausage from casing and brown in a large nonstick skillet. Transfer to paper towels to drain. Spray a 13- by 9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
Combine sausage, bread cubes and vegetables. Pat in an even layer in prepared dish.
Mix eggs, cream mixture, mustard, salt and pepper. Pour over vegetable and bread mixture. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate 4 hours or up to overnight.
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Bake strata 40 to 50 minutes, or until knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
