Vidalia Onion And Granny Smith Apple Chutney

Recipe Ingredients

3   Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored,
  And small diced - (6 cups)
3 cups 187g / 6.6ozMedium-diced Vidalia or other sweet onion
2 cups 320g / 11ozSultana raisins
1 teaspoon 5mlMinced ginger
1/2 cup 99g / 3.5ozSugar
1 cup 237mlApple cider
1/2 cup 118mlCider vinegar
1   Cinnamon stick
3   Whole cloves
1   Bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlSalt
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlFreshly-ground white pepper

Recipe Instructions

Place all ingredients in large pot and allow to cook down for 1 to 1 1/2 hours until most liquid evaporates. Season, to taste, with salt and pepper. Store covered in the refrigerator.

This recipe yields 8 servings.
