Southwestern Beef And Beans

Recipe Ingredients

1 lb 454g / 16ozDried pinto beans
6 cups 1422mlCold water
1/2 lb 227g / 8ozSalt pork - cut up
1 lb 454g / 16ozLean chuck steak - cut into
1   Cubes
1   Red chili peppers -or-
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlCrushed red pepper
1 teaspoon 5mlOnions - chopped (medium)
2   Garlic - minced
6 oz 170gTomato paste
1 1/2 tablespoons 22mlChili powder
1 teaspoon 5mlSalt
1 teaspoon 5mlCumin seed
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlMarjoram

Recipe Instructions

Soak beans in water overnight. Brown salt pork in skillet or slow-cooking pot with browning unit.

In slow-cooking pot, combine soaked beans (with water), browned pork, and remaining ingredients.

Cover and cook on low for 9 to 10 hours.
