Turkey-Black Bean Chili Recipe - Cooking Index
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Olive oil |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Ground turkey |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Chopped onion |
2 | Garlic - minced | |
1 1/2 tablespoons | 22ml | Chili powder |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Cumin |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Oregano |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Salt |
15 oz | 426g | Black beans - rinsed & drained |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Beef broth |
1 cup | 237ml | Picante sauce |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Cornstarch |
Heat oil in large pan. Add turkey, onions, and garlic; cook and stir 3 minutes. Add chili powder, cumin, oregano and salt; cook and stir until turkey is cooked through and onion is tender.
Stir in beans and broth. Combine picante sauce and cornstarch; add to pan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Makes about 4 1/2 cups chili.
