Cornmeal Mix Recipe - Cooking Index
| 4 cups | Unbleached all-purpose flour | |
| 3/4 cup | Sugar | |
| 1 cup | Vegetable shortening | |
| 1 tablespoon | Salt | |
| 1/4 cup | Baking powder | |
| 4 1/2 cups | Cornmeal |
In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar and baking powder. Stir to blend well. With a pastry blender, cut in shortening until evenly distributed.
Add cornmeal and mix well. Put in a large airtight container. Label as CORNMEAL MIX an store in a cool, dry, place.
Use within 12 weeks. Makes about 10 1/2 cups of CORNMEAL MIX.
