Recipe Ingredients

3/4 cup 148g / 5.2ozSugar
1/2 cup 99g / 3.5ozMargarine or butter
1 lb 454g / 16ozPitted dates - cut up
1 tablespoon 15mlSkim milk
1 teaspoon 5mlVanilla
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlSalt
1/4 cup 49g / 1.7ozFat-free cholesterol-free egg product
  OR
1   Egg - well beaten
1/2 cup 73g / 2.6ozChopped nuts
4 cups 584g / 20ozWheaties® - crushed
  Finely chopped nuts or shredded coconut - if
  Desired

Recipe Instructions

Mix sugar, margarine and dates in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over low heat,

stirring constantly, until margarine is melted; remove from heat. Mix in

milk, vanilla, salt and egg. Cook over very low heat about 4 minutes,

stirring constantly, until slightly thickened; remove from heat. Stir in

1/2

cup nuts. Cool 5 minutes. Stir in cereal. Shape mixture into 1-inch balls.

Roll balls in finely chopped nuts.
