Bananas "Foster" Recipe - Cooking Index
Instead of frying the bananas in butter, this recipe bakes them instead. Serving them with half-and-half instead of ice cream also saves fat and calories. | 3 tablespoons | Dark brown sugar | |
| 1 tablespoon | Butter | |
| Cardamom or cinnamon - to taste | ||
| 1/2 cup | Half-and-half |
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Peel and slice the bananas into a baking dish. Crumble the brown sugar over the bananas. Bake 5 minutes. Dot with butter.
Divide equally onto dessert plates. Sprinkle with cardamom or cinnamon. Pour half-and-half around the bananas and serve immediately.
