Gefilte Fish - 2

Recipe Ingredients

6 lbs 2724g / 96ozFish bones - several varieties
5   Onions
4 teaspoons 20mlSalt
1 1/2 teaspoons 7.5mlPepper
1 teaspoon 5mlSugar
2 teaspoons 10mlEggs (large)
3/4 cup 177mlIce water
3 tablespoons 45mlMatzo meal
3   Carrots - sliced

Recipe Instructions

Fillet fish. Combine heads, skin, bones, 4 sliced onions, 1/2 of salt and pepper and carrots in large pot. Cover with water and boil.

Grind fish and onion, add seasonings, water and matzo meal.

Shape into balls and drop into boiling stock. Cover and simmer 1 1/ 2 hours.

Cool and strain.
