Kahlua-Glazed Bananas Recipe - Cooking Index
4 cups | 948ml | Firm ripe bananas - peeled (small) |
(1-1/4 pounds) | ||
1 cup | 237ml | Water |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Instant coffee granules |
1/3 cup | 53g / 1.9oz | Firmly packed brown sugar |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Reduced-calorie stick margarine |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Kahlua or other coffee-flavored liqueur |
1 1/3 cups | 315ml | Vanilla nonfat frozen yogurt |
Cut each banana in half crosswise, and cut each piece in half lengthwise. Set banana pieces aside.
Bring water to a boil in a large nonstick skillet. Add the coffee granules, brown sugar, and margarine; reduce heat to medium, and cook until sugar dissolves, stirring frequently. Add banana pieces; cook 5 minutes, turning occasionally.
Remove from heat, and stir in Kahlua.
Yield: 4 servings (serving size: 4 banana pieces, 2-1/2 tablespoons sauce, and 1/3 cup frozen yogurt).
