Recipe Ingredients

2 tablespoons 30mlButter
2 tablespoons 30mlBrown sugar
1   Egg
1/2 cup 118mlMolasses
1 1/2 cups 93g / 3.3ozSifted flour
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlSalt
1 teaspoon 5mlBaking powder
1/2 cup 118mlBoiling water

Recipe Instructions

Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add beaten egg and molasses.

Sift flour, soda, salt and baking powder together and add alternately with boiling water in small amounts. Mix thoroughly.

Turn into greased mold and steam 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
