Chocolate Cherry Bars Recipe - Cooking Index
This recipe is a chocolate lover's dream -- it is so rich in chocolate. The cherries add a cheery red color and a delightful blend of flavors. We tried adding applesauce and mixing the ingredients with a mixer, but found this combination of ingredients and simpler cooking method yielded the richest, chewiest bar.

Spread the batter in the prepared baking pan and top with pie filling. Bake until the top becomes slightly crusty, 8 to 10 minutes, then sprinkle on the chocolate chips. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean with a few moist crumbs, about 8 to 10 minutes.
