Ginger Beef Stir Fry

Recipe Ingredients

1 lb 454g / 16ozTop sirloin steak
1   Water chestnuts - drained (8 oz)
2 tablespoons 30mlVegetable oil
3 tablespoons 45mlCarrots - cut in 2 inch (medium) sticks
1   Onion - sliced (medium)
1   Garlic - pressed
1 tablespoon 15mlChopped fresh ginger root
1 tablespoon 15mlGreen bell pepper - chunked (large)
1   Salad lettuce
1/4 cup 59mlOrange marmalade
2 tablespoons 30mlSoy sauce

Recipe Instructions

Thinly slice sirloin against grain in 1 inch wide strips.

Cut each water chestnut in half. In a large skillet or wok, quickly brown sirloin in hot oil.

Stir in chestnuts, carrots, onion, garlic and ginger until onion is soft.

Stir in pepper and lettuce for one minute.

Stir in marmalade and soy sauce. Cook, stirring about 2 minutes.

Serve at once.
