| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Tomato sauce |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Cumin |
| 3 cups | 711ml | Water |
| 1 1/4 cups | 200g / 7.1oz | Rice |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Pepper |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Garlic chopped |
Cut up fryer, brown in shortening. Remove chicken, brown rice in same shortening. Mix together, add 3 cups water. Stir in other ingredients, cover and simmer until rice is tender.
