Carolina Cocktail Sauce (1 PT)


Recipe Ingredients

1 cup 237mlChili sauce (Heinz brand)
1/4 cup 59mlPrepared horseradish - well drained (you

1/4 cup 49g / 1.7ozGranulated sugar
2 tablespoons 30mlDistilled vinegar
2 teaspoons 10mlMinced sweet onion
2 teaspoons 10mlWorcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons 10mlCelery seed
1 teaspoon 5mlCelery salt
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlGarlic powder
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlFresh ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlHot pepper sauce

Recipe Instructions

In a medium, glass or stainless steel bowl whisk together all the

ingredients until completely combined and the sugar dissolves. Cover and

refrigerate for at least one day to give the flavors time to blend. (Two

days is even better.)

Makes 8 servings

Good cocktail sauce is a MUST for shrimp - it almost MAKES the meal and

boiled shrimp without a good sauce is like a dance with no music! This is

one of my favorite sauces - I keep everything on hand to make this so that

I'm not caught 'dancing with no music!' *lol*
