Recipe Ingredients

2 tablespoons 30mlSalad oil
1 tablespoon 15mlFlour
1 tablespoon 15mlSugar
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlPrepared mustard
1/4 cup 59mlWater
1/4 cup 59mlVinegar
1 1/2 cups 355mlCooked ham - in thin strips
1 cup 62g / 2.2ozOnion rings
1/2 cup 118mlGreen pepper - in thin strips
1 cup 237mlThin unpared cucumber slices
1/2 cup 55g / 1.9ozCelery - sliced
2 cups 125g / 4.4ozTomatoes - in thin wedges
4 cups 948mlLettuce - in bite-size pieces
3   American cheese - cut in thin strips
2   Hard cooked eggs - sliced

Recipe Instructions

For dressing, mix oil, flour, sugar, mustard, water, and vinegar in a large frying pan.

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Mix ham, onion, green pepper, cucumber, and celery with dressing.

Cook covered over medium heat until heated through, about 4 to 5 minutes. Stir several times during cooking.

Remove from heat.

Toss gently with tomatoes and lettuce.

Garnish with cheese strips and egg slices.
