Recipe Ingredients

1   Italian tomatoes - crushed with your hands
1/4 cup 59mlOlive oil
1/2 cup 118mlRed wine
1 cup 62g / 2.2ozOnion chopped (large)
1 teaspoon 5mlDried sweet basil
3   Garlic - minced
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlDried oregano
2 tablespoons 30mlTomato paste
1/2 cup 118mlWater
28 oz 795gTomato puree
  Salt and pepper to taste

Recipe Instructions

Sauteeonion in oil until lightly browned, then add the garlic and sauteefor 1 minute more. Add all other ingredients and simmer 2 hours stirring often to prevent sticking.
