Christmas Fruitcake - 2 Recipe - Cooking Index
| 1 cup | Cold water | |
| 2 cups | Seedless raisins | |
| 2 cups | Sugar | |
| 1 cup | Shortening | |
| 1 teaspoon | Cinnamon | |
| 1 teaspoon | Nutmeg | |
| 1/2 teaspoon | Cloves | |
| 1/4 teaspoon | Salt | |
| 3 1/2 cups | Flour | |
| 1 1/2 teaspoons | Baking soda | |
| 1 cup | Nut meats |
Mix all ingredients except flour, soda and nut meats. Bring to a boil.
Let mixture cool. Sift and add flour and baking soda. Add nut meats. Pour into greased and floured tube cake pan.
Bake 55 minutes at 350F.
Frost as, if desired. Lip smacking hint: serve with ice cream.
