Christmas Fruitcake - 2

Recipe Ingredients

1 cup  Cold water
2 cups  Seedless raisins
2 cups  Sugar
1 cup  Shortening
1 teaspoon  Cinnamon
1 teaspoon  Nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon  Cloves
1/4 teaspoon  Salt
3 1/2 cups  Flour
1 1/2 teaspoons  Baking soda
1 cup  Nut meats

Recipe Instructions

Mix all ingredients except flour, soda and nut meats. Bring to a boil.

Let mixture cool. Sift and add flour and baking soda. Add nut meats. Pour into greased and floured tube cake pan.

Bake 55 minutes at 350F.

Frost as, if desired. Lip smacking hint: serve with ice cream.
