Honey Chocolate Cake Recipe - Cooking Index
2 1/2 cups | 156g / 5.5oz | Sifted flour |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Baking powder |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Shortening |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Sugar |
3/4 cup | 177ml | Honey |
1 | Egg - separated | |
2 oz | 56g | Chocolate - melted |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Water |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Sour milk |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Vanilla |
Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together.
Cream shortening with sugar and honey until fluffy. Add 1/2 cup dry ingredients and blend.
Add beaten yolk and chocolate; beat thoroughly.
Add dry ingredients and liquids alternately in small amounts, blending after each addition.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg white.
Bake in greased pan in moderate oven 350F for 40 to 50 minutes.
