2 tablespoons | 30ml | Molasses |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Vanilla extract |
1/3 cup | 78ml | Water |
1 1/2 cups | 297g / 10oz | Granulated sugar |
1 1/2 cups | 240g / 8.5oz | Packed brown sugar |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Baking powder |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Baking soda |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
5 cups | 312g / 11oz | All-purpose flour |
6 oz | 170g | Semi sweet chocolate chips |
Preheat the oven to 375F.
Cream the butter, eggs, molasses, vanilla and water in a medium bowl. In a large bowl sift together the sugars, baking powder, baking soda, salt and flour.
Combine the moist mixture with the dry mixture add the chocolate chips. Shape the dough into 1 inch balls and place them 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes or until light brown around edges.
