Mashed Bean Dip

Recipe Ingredients

2 cups 320g / 11ozDrained - cooked pinto beans
2   Green onions - minced
3/4 cup 177mlJack or cheddar - grated
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlCilantro - minced
1 tablespoon 15mlChili powder
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlSalt
1   Garlic - crushed
2 tablespoons 30mlBacon drippings

Recipe Instructions

Mash beans, add the other ingredients. except the fat, and mix well, seasoning with salt and garlic to taste.

Heat fat in chafing dish, add the mixture and stir until cheese is melted and the dip is bubbling. Serve warm with freshly made tostadas.

Yield: approx. 2 cups
