Alaska Octopus Gumbo Recipe - Cooking Index
| 1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Diced bacon |
| 2 cups | 474ml | Water |
| 1 pint | Fresh octopus - steamed until tender | |
| 2 cups | 320g / 11oz | Slightly undercooked - steamed rice |
| 1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Canned tomatoes |
| 1 can | Okra | |
| 1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Diced onions |
| 1 | Diced green pepper | |
| 1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Cayenne |
| 1/2 cup | 55g / 1.9oz | Diced celery |
| Salt and pepper to taste |
Boil bacon in water for 15 minutes, then add the rest of the ingredients.
Simmer together for ten minutes. Serve with warm cornbread.
