Spicy Texas Barbecue Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
| 1 cup | 237ml | Catsup |
| 1/2 cup | 80g / 2.8oz | Brown sugar - firmly packed |
| 1/4 cup | 59ml | Lime juice |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Ground red chiles - to taste |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Vegetable oil |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Worcestershire sauce |
| 1 1/2 cups | 93g / 3.3oz | Onion; chopped - 3 medium |
| 2 | Jalapeno chiles - * | |
| 2 | Garlic - finely chopped | |
| 12 oz | 340g | Tomato paste - 1 cn |
| 12 oz | 340g | Beer - any brand |
* Jalapeno chiles should be seeded and finely chopped.
Heat all ingredients to boiling in a 2 quart saucepan; reduce heat to low.
Cover and simmer 1 hour; stirring occasionally.
Makes about 5 cups of sauce.
