Tangy Spare Rib Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
| 1 | Onion - finely chopped (medium) | |
| 1/2 cup | 55g / 1.9oz | Finely chopped celery |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Butter or margarine |
| 1 cup | 237ml | Ketchup |
| 1 cup | 237ml | Water |
| 1/4 cup | 59ml | Lemon juice |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Vinegar |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Brown sugar |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Worcestershire sauce |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Dry mustard |
| 1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Pepper |
| 1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Chili powder |
In a medium saucepan, saute onion and celery in butter for 4-5 minutes or until tender.
Add remaining ingredients; mix well.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat. Cook and stir until slightly thickened, about 10-minutes.
Remove from the heat.
