| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Catsup |
| 1/4 cup | 59ml | Water |
| 1/4 cup | 15g / 0.5oz | Onion - finely chopped |
| 3 tablespoons | 45ml | Red wine vinegar |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Vegetable oil |
| 2 teaspoons | 10ml | Brown sugar |
| 2 teaspoons | 10ml | Worcestershire sauce |
| 2 teaspoons | 10ml | Mustard seed - whole |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Paprika |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Oregano - dried, crushed |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Chili powder |
| 1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Salt |
| 1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Cloves - ground |
| 1 | Bay leaf | |
| 10 | Garlic - minced |
In saucepan, combine all ingredients.
Bring mixture to a boil; reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes, stirring once or twice.
Discard bay leaf. Use to baste hamburgers or ribs last 15 minutes of grilling.
