Pear Custard Tart Recipe - Cooking Index
| Pie crust - (9 inch), pre-baked | ||
| For The Filling | ||
| 3 | Pear halves - (depending on size) | |
| (3 to 4) | ||
| 2 | Eggs | |
| 2 oz | 56g | Castor sugar |
| Just under 1/2 pint milk | ||
| Grated nutmeg |
Slice or fan (like avocado) the pear halves and arrange on base.
Heat the milk and sugar together until just boiling.
Pour into a bowl containing the two well beaten eggs and mix well.
Pour this mixture into the base and grate some nutmeg over the top.
Bake in a medium/hot oven (160/180 c) until the custard is set and the top is beginning to colour.
Serve hot or cold
