Raisin Bars Recipe - Cooking Index
| 1 cup | 160g / 5.6oz | Raisins |
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Unsweetened apple juice |
| 1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Whole wheat flour |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Baking soda |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Baking powder |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Ground cinnamon |
| 1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Ground nutmeg |
| 1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Ground cloves |
| 1 | Egg | |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Vegetable oil |
| Grated orange rind |
In a saucepan, combine the raisins and apple juice. Bring to a boil and cool.
Meanwhile, mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, spices, egg and vegetable oil together. Add the raisin mixture and blend thoroughly. Spread the mixture into a lightly oiled 8 inch square pan. Sprinkle on the grated orange rind.
Bake in 350F oven for 30 to 40 minutes. Cool in the pan on a wire rack and cut into bars.
