Rum Butter Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
| 1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Sugar |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Cornstarch |
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Lemon juice |
| 1 | Lemon - grated , rind of | |
| 1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Butter |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Brandy |
| 1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Nutmeg or cinnamon |
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Light rum |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Dark rum |
Blend the sugar and cornstarch in 1 cup of boiling water. Cook stirring constantly over medium heat until the mixture begins to thicken. Add remaining ingredients and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Serve hot over mince pie, pound cake, or pudding.
Makes 3 cups of sauce.
