Greek-Style Beef Stew Recipe - Cooking Index
| 1 1/2 lbs | 681g / 24oz | Stew beef in 1/2" cubes |
| 1 | Tomato paste - (6 oz) | |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Brown sugar |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Red wine vinegar (or cider) |
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Red wine (or use apple juice) |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Cumin |
| 4 teaspoons | 20ml | Garlic cloves (small) |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Freshly-ground black pepper |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Cinnamon - or more to taste |
| 1 | Bay leaf | |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Raisins |
| (other dried fruit could be substituted) | ||
| 2 | Whole cloves |
Mix all ingredients in the crockpot. Cover and cook on LOW 7 to 9 hours.
This recipe yields 6 servings.
