| 2 1/2 lbs | 1135g / 40oz | Ground turkey |
| 2 cups | 220g / 7.8oz | Minced celery |
| 1 | Green bell pepper - finely chopped | |
| 1/4 cup | 40g / 1.4oz | Brown sugar - (packed) |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Salt |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Worcestershire sauce |
| 1 | Chili sauce - (12 oz) | |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Cider vinegar |
| 12 | Hamburger buns - toasted |
Cook the onions in the butter in a 4-quart saucepan over medium heat until tender, about 5 minutes. Remove from the pan; set aside.
Spray the saucepan with nonstick cooking spray. Add the turkey and cook, stirring occasionally, until the turkey is no longer red, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the celery, bell pepper, brown sugar, salt, Worcestershire sauce, chili sauce and vinegar. Bring to a simmer, cover and cook 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Spoon the filling onto the buns.
This recipe yields 12 servings.
Each serving: 307 calories; 854 mg sodium; 55 mg cholesterol; 6 grams fat; 2 grams saturated fat; 31 grams carbohydrates; 27 grams protein; 2.28 grams fiber.
Make ahead tip: The filling can be made a day ahead and reheated. Just grill the buns at the last minute; spray them with nonstick cooking spray or lightly brush them with oil before placing them on the grill.
