Cheese Steak Sandwiches Recipe - Cooking Index
With deli roast beef, this is a 10 minute dinner. To make an authentic Philly cheese steak sandwich, add 1/4 of a sliced, fried onion to each sandwich (but dont forget to add the carbs!)
Type: Meat| 4 oz | 113g | Cheddar or Edam cheese |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Butter - softened |
| 2 teaspoons | 10ml | Dijon mustard |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Worcestershire sauce |
| 1 | Cayenne pepper | |
| 4 | Atkins bread - lightly toasted | |
| 1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Deli roast beef slices |
| = (not too thinly sliced) |
Heat broiler. In a food processor, process cheese, butter, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne until smooth.
Spread cheese mixture on bread slices. Arrange beef slices over cheese, leaving a thin cheese border. Arrange on broiler pan; broil 2 minutes until cheese bubbles and browns.
