Recipe Ingredients

1 lb 454g / 16ozAll-purpose flour
1 cup 62g / 2.2ozCornmeal
2 tablespoons 30mlBaking powder
1/2 cup 99g / 3.5ozSugar - (to 1)
1 teaspoon 5mlSalt
  Water - as needed
  Vegetable oil - as needed

Recipe Instructions

Sift together all dry ingredients into a bowl and add just enough water to make a dough. Cut a small piece of dough and roll between your hands to form a 3- to 5-inch log. Fry in 1 1/2 inches of oil at 350 degrees.

This recipe yields about 24.
