Quick Fruit Compote Recipe - Cooking Index
| 1 cup | 237ml | Dry white wine |
| 3 cups | 711ml | Water |
| 1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Sugar |
| 1 | Cinnamon stick | |
| 1 | Bay leaf | |
| 4 | Whole cloves | |
| Whole allspice - to taste | ||
| Peppercorns - to taste | ||
| 6 oz | 170g | Dried apricots |
| 6 oz | 170g | Dried pitted prunes |
| 2 oz | 56g | Golden raisins |
| 1 cup | 237ml | Cut up fresh seasonal fruit - (to 2) |
| Garnish | ||
| Fresh mint | ||
| Plain or vanilla yogurt | ||
| Sliced almonds |
Combine wine, water, sugar and spices and bring to a boil. Add apricots, prunes and raisins, cover and bring back to a simmer. Remove from heat and cool.
Stir in fresh fruit of choice and garnish with mint, yogurt and almonds.
This recipe yields 4 servings.
