Virginia's Homemade Chili

Recipe Ingredients

1 lb 454g / 16ozGround beef
1   Kidney beans - (15 oz)
1   Onion - chopped (medium)
1   Bell pepper - chopped (small)
1   Tomatoes - (15 oz)
1   McCormick chili seasoning - (1 1/4 oz)
1 teaspoon 5mlSalt
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlFreshly-ground black pepper - or to taste
1   Tomato sauce - (15 oz)
1 cup 237mlWater

Recipe Instructions

In a medium saucepan, brown beef slowly until no pink remains. Pour off fat. Add kidney beans and cook for 10 minutes. Add onion and pepper and cook slowly for 5 minutes. Add tomatoes and chili seasoning packet and cook 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper and cook 2 minutes. Add tomato sauce and water and cook slowly, about 30 minutes.

This recipe yields 4 servings.
