Indian Lentil Soup Recipe - Cooking Index

| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Olive oil |
| 5 cups | 1185ml | Water |
| 1 cup | 237ml | Red lentils |
| 1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Chopped onions |
| 1/2 cup | 55g / 1.9oz | Thinly sliced celery |
| 1 cup | 110g / 3.9oz | Diced carrot |
| 1 1/2 tablespoons | 22ml | Tomato paste |
| 1 | Bay leaf | |
| 1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Chili powder |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Salt |
| 1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Chopped parsley |
Put first 7 ingredients in pot. Bring to a boil then add next 4 ingredients and continue simmering till lentils are soft, approx. 2 hrs. Just before serving, add the chopped parsley.
