Masoor Shorba (Soup) Recipe - Cooking Index
| 3/4 cup | 177ml | Masoor dal - (washed) |
| 3 | Onions - sliced | |
| 4 | Garlic - crushed | |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Chile powder |
| 3 | Tomatoes | |
| 2 teaspoons | 10ml | Oil |
| Salt - to taste | ||
| Lemon juice | ||
| For Garnish | ||
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Boiled rice |
Preparation time: 10 minutes Cooking time: 15 minutes
1. Heat the oil and fry the onions for 1 minute. Add the garlic and chile powder and fry again for 1/2 minute.
2. Add 6 cups of water, the tomatoes, masoor dal and salt and cook in a pressure cooker until the first whistle.
3. When cooked, blend in a mixer.
4. Boil for 5 minutes.
Serve hot with lemon juice and garnished with boiled rice.
