Acar (Indonesian Garden Salad) Recipe - Cooking Index
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Water - cold |
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | White vinegar |
| 1 | Ginger root - crushed | |
| 3 1/2 tablespoons | 52ml | Sugar |
| 3 teaspoons | 15ml | Salt |
| 1 | Yellow onion - thinly sliced | |
| 5 cups | 1185ml | Cabbage - thinly sliced |
| 1 cup | 110g / 3.9oz | Carrot - finely shredded |
| 2 cups | 474ml | Cucumber - thinly sliced |
In salad bowl combine first five ingredients. Add vegetables.
Toss thoroughly and refrigerate at least one hour.
