Momma's Beef Stew Recipe - Cooking Index
| 4 tablespoons | 60ml | Oil |
| 3 tablespoons | 45ml | Wine vinegar |
| 1 1/2 lbs | 681g / 24oz | Beef stew meat |
| 1 cup | 237ml | Red wine |
| 1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Onion minced (medium) |
| 1 | Bay leaf | |
| 1 | Garlic minced | |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Oregano |
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Tomato sauce |
| 4 cups | 948ml | Potatoes cubed (medium) |
| 2 | Carrots sliced | |
| Salt and pepper to taste |
Saute onion and garlic in oil. Add every thing except potatoes and carrots to large pot.
Cover tightly and simmer 1 1/2 hours until meat is thoroughly tender.
Half an hour before meat is ready add carrots and potatoes.
