All Purpose Pork Rub

Generally speaking, all you really need to make an excellent rub for smoking is equal parts of brown sugar and sweet paprika as a base. You will need to spice it up with salt and pepper to taste and you need a liquid with some flavor to bind the spices to the meat. A good squirt of mustard will do the trick. Add some garlic powder or whatever floats your boat and you will be in good shape.
