Carne Guisada - 1 Recipe - Cooking Index
| 3 lbs | 1362g / 48oz | Round steak - trimmed, cubed |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Vegetable oil |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Flour |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Chopped |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Chopped green pepper |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Chopped tomato |
| 1 | Garlic - minced, up to 2 | |
| 1 | Tomatoes and green chiles - undrained | |
| 1 | Tomato sauce | |
| 1/4 cup | 59ml | Water |
| 1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Ground cumin |
| Salt and pepper - to taste |
Cook steak in oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until browned. Sprinkle with flour and stir well. Add onion and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil over medium hear, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 40 minutes or until meat is tender and sauce is thick. Serve in flour tortillas or over hot cooked rice. I have served it both ways and it is delicious both ways.
