A. J. Foyt's 500-Mile Chili

Recipe Ingredients

3 lbs 1362g / 48ozStewing beef - cubed
1 lb 454g / 16ozChorizo - (Mexican sausage)
2 large  Onions - diced (large)
1   Garlic - minced
  Jalapeno pepper - peel, diced
3 tablespoons 45mlOlive oil
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlCayenne
3 tablespoons 45mlChili powder
3 cans  Tomato sauce - (15-oz each)
1 teaspoon 5mlSalt
1 1/2 cups 355mlWater
1 can  Mexican beer

Recipe Instructions

Brown Meat, onions, garlic and jalapenos together in olive oil. While mixture is browning, add cayenne and chili powder. Stir often. Add tomato sauce, salt, water and beer.

Cover and cook on low heat for 30 minutes, stirring often. Uncover and simmer for 2 hours.
